MOSCOW -- Russian police have detained two dozen protesters as hundreds rallied at two locations in downtown Moscow to protest Kremlin policies.
Moscow police said Saturday they had detained more than 20 people for trying to hold an unsanctioned protest at Revolution Square, along with several protesters at nearby Pushkin Square who unfurled anti-Kremlin banners.
Several hundred protesters at Pushkin Square earlier chanted "Russia without Putin!" and "Shame" as police used bullhorns urging them to disperse.
The crowd cheered opposition leader Sergei Udaltsov who was released from jail Friday night after his 10-day arrest for disobeying police orders was replaced with a fine.
Saturday's rallies continue mass protests that followed December's fraud-tainted parliamentary election.
